This cartoon film with narrative shows the history of money and how it has evolved today. Through fractional-reserve banking, Banks are making money out of thin air from the debt they give us! $ Without debt there would be no money!! This amount of money and debt that can be created is exponential, and incomes cannot keep up to repay, so foreclosures and bankruptcies are inevitable. The money system we have is not sustainable.
Subsequently, profiting from charging interest (Usuary) used to be punished by death!! Now we allow bankers to charge us interest on money that they make up!!! We must learn from our mistakes and never let this happen again!!!!
"Let me issue and control a Nation's money and I care not who makes its laws" - Amsel (Amschel) Bauer Mayer Rothschild, 1838
Also, check out Money as Debt II: Promises Unleashed - description: Bailouts, stimulus packages, debt piled upon debt, where will it all end? How did we get into a situation where there has never been more material wealth & productivity and yet everyone is in debt to bankers? And now, all of a sudden, the bankers have no money and we the taxpayers, have to rescue them by going even further into debt! Money as Debt II Explores the baffling, fraudulent and destructive arithmetic of the money system that holds us hostage to a forever growing DEBT...and how we might evolve beyond it into a new era.

Our dollar is worth $0.04 today compared to what it was worth in 1913 when the Federal Reserve took over. Our spending has been out of control with the Warfare and Welfare State (aka Guns and Butter). We have been making money out of thin air which debases the currency. Now other countries are running away from the dollar. Peoples savings and assets are being wiped out due to inflation. We need to put an end to fiat (paper) currency, and replace it with true sound money backed by a hard asset such as gold or silver.
To see for yourself the effect of inflation since 1913, use the inflation calculator on bls.gov
Pleasantly surprised that Fox called on Ron Paul for advice on this matter! He says we can't keep tinkering with the middle east and funding military dictators. We funded Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein and then they were our enemies. Ron Paul worries that we may now go and invade Pakistan. Ron Paul says we should be looking at our Foreign Policy strategy and also realize we can't afford this policy any longer. Let the people take care of themselves and stop funding oppressive rulers. Ron Paul has been speaking this message for over 30 years, his book 'A Foreign Policy of Freedom: Peace, Commerce and Honest Friendship' is an amazing history lesson that needs to be read by everyone!

Another Must-See Film!! It was mentioned by Ron Paul on Meet the Press today (very entertaining interview, btw! - [read transcript here]). This video is by the late Aaron Russo. He investigates the legality of the income tax and finds it illegal! He interviewed former IRS employees who had to quit because they couldn't find the law that said people had to pay the income tax!! This film also goes into the Federal Reserve and why it needs to be shutdown!
This film is a must-see. Dwight D. Eisenhower is the hero of the film and he warns us in his farewell speech about the dangers of the "military-industrial-complex". (originally written as the "military-industrial-congressional-complex"). This video shows how America's defense has turned us into the American Empire.
Amazing new wind-power technology to use special magnets. A big MAGLEV can power up to 750,000 homes!! 1 maglev = 1000 current wind power technology!!! The question is, can we get this technology and electric cars to market before the price / supply of oil takes us into a recession or depression??
At Phil Donahue's Christmas party, Regis finds himself seated next to Amy Goodman, one of the most respected journalists in America — who he’s never heard of. So when he asks what she does, Amy explains she has a show on PBS where she covers global events. Then Regis finds himself inadequate and realizes he talks about nothing, every day. Good news is that he now tunes in to her show in the mornings. Maybe he'll start talking about issues that matter to help wake up this country before it's too late.

Great idea here! Downsizedc.org has a petition to tell congress that we're not afraid.
"I am not afraid of terrorism, and I want you to stop being afraid on my behalf. Please start scaling back the official government war on terror. Please replace it with a smaller, more focused anti-terrorist police effort in keeping with the rule of law. Please stop overreacting. I understand that it will not be possible to stop all terrorist acts. I am not afraid."
Let's stop overreacting to the possibility to a terrorist threat and fears in general!
This wikipedia article is very in depth and does a better job at explaining Ron Paul's position than his website!
I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not.. but either way, its pretty interesting. I think more emphasis should be put on Geothermal energy.
"Toshiba has developed a new class of micro size Nuclear Reactors that is designed to power individual apartment buildings or city blocks. The new reactor, which is only 20 feet by 6 feet, could change everything for small remote communities, small businesses or even a group of neighbors who are fed up with the power companies and want more control over their energy needs.
The 200 kilowatt Toshiba designed reactor is engineered to be fail-safe and totally automatic and will not overheat. Unlike traditional nuclear reactors the new micro reactor uses no control rods to initiate the reaction. The new revolutionary technology uses reservoirs of liquid lithium-6, an isotope that is effective at absorbing neutrons. The Lithium-6 reservoirs are connected to a vertical tube that fits into the reactor core. The whole whole process is self sustaining and can last for up to 40 years, producing electricity for only 5 cents per kilowatt hour, about half the cost of grid energy.
Toshiba expects to install the first reactor in Japan in 2008 and to begin marketing the new system in Europe and America in 2009."
wow, check this out!! Freedom is popular!
"The Lakota Indians, who gave the world legendary warriors Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse, have withdrawn from treaties with the United States.
Lakota country includes parts of the states of Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming.
The new country would issue its own passports and driving licences, and living there would be tax-free -- provided residents renounce their US citizenship."
The world has been treating the US dollar as a stable reserve currency like Gold once was. This is now changing. Since 2003, the dollar has lost a 1/3rd of it's value. The outsourcing of jobs to other countries, the excess printing of fiat (paper) currency, and the rapid increase in spending and thus debt are catching up with us.
"The Coming Collapse of the Dollar and How to Profit from It" by James Turk and John Rubino is a fascinating read of history and money. The United States is following in the footsteps of ancient Rome. We may collapse under our own weight - from the demands of big government, the warfare and welfare state.
James Turk and Paul Craig Roberts are interviewed in these videos below on The Death of the Dollar.

Meryl Lynch forecasts a recession in the next 12 months with 100% probability. They were correct in predicting the 1991 and 2001 recessions by using this method. Former Fed Reserve Chair Alan Greenspan has raised his odds from 30% to 50%.
If we hit a recession and the Fed continues to lower interest rates (which will continue to lower the dollar), we have an even higher probability of a world wide economic crisis and possible collapse. Be advised.
Clever video illustrating peak oil and what will happen if we aren't prepared with alternatives! I got this from The Energy Blog, which has all sorts of good information about upcoming electric cars, wind power, solar power, etc! Also another good site to keep up on peak oil is "The Oil Drum". Finally, if you want to spend some time, "Life after the Oil Crash" is a great resource with loads of information on what could happen, why, the alternatives and what you can do to prepare.

Three senior members of the House Judiciary Committee have called for the immediate opening of impeachment hearings for Vice President Richard Cheney.
Democrats Robert Wexler of Florida, Luis Gutierrez of Illinois and Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin on Friday distributed a statement, “A Case for Hearings,” that declares, “The issues at hand are too serious to ignore, including credible allegations of abuse of power that if proven may well constitute high crimes and misdemeanors under our constitution. The charges against Vice President Cheney relate to his deceptive actions leading up to the Iraq war, the revelation of the identity of a covert agent for political retaliation, and the illegal wiretapping of American citizens.”
“Holding hearings would put the evidence on the table, and the evidence — not politics — should determine the outcome,” the Judiciary Committee members explain. “Even if the hearings do not lead to removal from office, putting these grievous abuses on the record is important for the sake of history. For an Administration that has consistently skirted the constitution and asserted that it is above the law, it is imperative for Congress to make clear that we do not accept this dangerous precedent. Our Founding Fathers provided Congress the power of impeachment for just this reason, and we must now at least consider using it.”
This is great news, unfortunately this isn't getting any attention in the MSM... This should be front page news on all newspapers.
Join Wexler's Call for Cheney Hearings
This blog shows the response he received from Obama's office regarding S 1959. It shows no sign of concern from Obama about the vague definitions in the bill. No concern for this new committee's efforts to be used against activists and it's potential disregard of the 1st amendment.
I'd like to get a statement from Obama on this issue as some of my friends are Obama supporters and now Oprah is touring with him on the campaign trail!!
Is this ignorance or is this corruption? Most politicians didn't even read the Patriot Act. Is Obama ignorant or is he part of the system? Does Obama worry about this country becoming an Empire? Is Obama concerned with the "10 steps to fascism" that are being taken place here in the US to turn our democracy into a fascist state as talked about by Naomi Wolf?
Keep in mind Obama is a member of the CFR - like most democrats and republicans (except ron paul and a few others). The CFR is a think tank that is openly for world government and has written the blueprint for the North American Union (NAU)!

Iran has completely stopped using the dollar for oil transactions. What does this mean?
Iraq stopped using dollars in 2000. This is one of the reasons why we invaded Iraq and one of the reasons why we've been so aggressive to Iran (even though they stopped their nuclear weapons program in 2003). We've also been very aggressive towards Venezuela and Hugo Chavez who is joining forces with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to pressure OPEC to stop using dollars.
Here's what Ahmadinejad had to say about the dollar: "They get our oil and give us a worthless piece of paper,'' said Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at press conference today. ``The dollar has no economic value."
Other countries such as the United Arab Emirates (an OPEC member) are starting to move away from using dollars in oil transactions. In 2006, Russia setup a new market to sell oil in forms other than dollars.
The countries of the world own tons of dollars so they can trade oil with our currency. Because of this, the value of our dollar stays high. More and more countries are starting to abandon the dollar, which is leading to it's eventual collapse. However in a twisted way, the collapse of the dollar will also mean the elimination of our debt since it is held in dollars! Many banks and countries will be drastically affected. We're talking global economic chaos here.
The US is currently using it's military might to prop up the value of the dollar. However, the only way to keep up the financing our American Empire is to print more money and to increase our debt. But as we "print" more dollars, the value drops (simple supply/demand). Once the dollar collapses, countries like China and Japan won't buy our dollars to finance our debt.
This means we will be seeing drastic worldwide change. At minimum it will be financially. Economically we will definitely see change short term as Americans can't buy their worthless plastic goods from wal-mart, I believe this is a good thing. Our Economy will rebound eventually, I believe Americans are hard workers when put to a task. But who knows exactly what will happen?? We have a fascist police state on the books and warmongers in the white house and even more corrupt politicians trying to get in office.
We will be seeing great change in the future. I suggest you prepare for the worst and hope for the best. This means live somewhere sustainable (access to food and water) and use real money or local bartering. Hold your representatives accountable and question authority. We need a peaceful revolution of change. I look forward to a future where people have more compassion and appreciation for others. Less waste and less fear.
We need more politicians like Ron Paul who push for liberty, sound money, freedom and PEACE.

I like this guy!! He should team up with Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich to lead the revolution! While all three men have different views, they all are against the war on terror, the war in Iraq and the war on drugs! Both Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich are strong voices for protecting the constitution! I'm sure Gravel would get on board...
Mike Gravel was instrumental in stopping the draft after Vietnam and helped prevent it from coming back! Also Gravel put out the "pentagon papers" revealing the secret government actions related to Vietnam. Gravel is also behind NI4D which would allow citizens to be lawmakers by a constitutional amendment. NI4D would give people the same power as the government. NI4D is a good alternative to returning to state rights with limited government power, which our founding fathers envisioned.
If only Gravel would get behind abolishing the federal reserve and a return to sound money..

2 part video: first part shows how the phone polls are rigged to exclude Ron Paul supporters! second part is a clip from Penn & Teller discussing Frank Luntz and his manipulation of polls to "get the results". Frank Luntz is an American corporate and political consultant and pollster who has worked most notably with the Republican Party in the United States. Luntz's specialty is “testing language and finding words that will help his clients sell their product or turn public opinion on an issue or a candidate.”
There's a blimp that will be flying over the east coast to Boston for the tea party with Ron Paul's name on it!! After that, the blimp will continue flying across the country!
They need donations by this friday, I just donated $100
How exciting!! :)

Great interview that talks about the real issues - not the distractions.
"You have vehement new supporters. What's driving the sudden interest in your candidacy?
I think they're sick and tired of what they're getting. They've lost all trust and faith in the government. They believe in the American Dream, and they're getting a nightmare. And they're rallying behind the program I've been working on for 30 years—defending the Constitution, limited government, free markets, sound money, and self-reliance; believing people can take care of themselves better than government can. The nanny state doesn't work, the police state doesn't work, and neither does the warfare. And they know it."

Here's a video my friend Kaye sent me that shows the Militarization of Our Police. Where has Officer Friendly gone?? They mention Posse Comitatus Act as being there to protect us but they leave out that Bush has effectively setup a loophole to get by it.
Posse Comitatus Act from 1878 restricts our military from policing us. In 2007 Bush allowed this to be nullified encase of an emergency, such as a terrorist attack or crisis (read: the coming economic collapse)
In early 2006, the 109th Congress passed a controversial bill that grants the President the right to commandeer federal or state National Guard Troops and use them inside the United States. This bill, entitled the John Warner Defense Appropriation Act for Fiscal Year 2007 (H.R. 5122.ENR), contains a provision (Section 1076) that allows the President to
“...employ the armed forces, including the National Guard in Federal service, to... restore public order and enforce the laws of the United States when, as a result of a natural disaster, epidemic, or other serious public health emergency, terrorist attack or incident, or other condition in any State or possession of the United States..., where the President determines that,...domestic violence has occurred to such an extent that the constituted authorities of the State or possession are incapable of maintaining public order; suppress, in a State, any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy...”
Senator Patrick Leahy and others have condemned Section 1076 because it effectively nullifies the Posse Comitatus Act and the Insurrection Act (10 U.S.C. 331-335) and gives the President the legal ability to define under what conditions martial law may be declared.
I submitted this to Oprah.com under upcoming shows - what matters to you ?
imagine if Oprah talks about these subjects.....
I suggest you submit something you care about to her. her audience is HUGE and people look up to her. and she cares about humanity. if enough of us contact her it could make a big impact. Ron Paul was on the view today, so the momentum is building!!!
I'm a self employed musician living in las vegas (originally from san luis obispo, california).
I've become extremely concerned with government taking away our civil liberties in the name of our safety. the war on terror, the war on drugs, the war on communism... they have all taken away our rights over the years.
We're at a point where we have on the books all the parts needed to turn us into a fascist state.
I'm extremely concerned
The two people I believe you should have on your show are
1) Naomi Wolf (author of the beauty myth and now the end of America (10 steps to fascism that we have taken))
2) Ron Paul (anti-war republican candidate who realizes that our economy is falling apart and we are spreading fear around the world. he is the only candidate I can trust)
thank you very much for your consideration
ps. I have a blog where I have more information about these subjects - infopatriots.org
Let's imagine a better future. One with peace, understanding, compassion and love for all.
While this blog shows the evil in the world, we must not dwell on it. Let's use it as a wakeup call to be more active in our communities. And from this inspiration and call to for change, we can help shape the world in our image.
No longer will we accept 'the lesser of two evils' as an option. Let's have higher standards for politics and society. Fear, corruption and war are not acceptable and those who participate should be voted out or should resign immediately.
Often I hear from people that Ron Paul can't win, or that a candidate can't run on values of respect of the law and the constitution, and who is not a crook. If you believe that to be reality, it will stay that way. The question we must ask to them is, what kind of reality do you want?
For those who have seen "The Secret", you'll understand the law of attraction. We create our own reality. We can do anything we put our mind to. So let's focus on the positive things we want and not dwell on the evils, and use this concept when talking to people. Show hope for the future based on concern of where things are going.
Let's not be doomers and gloomers. Let's be happy, positive, upbeat and passionate for positive change!!!
Think, Imagine and FEEL the reality of a peaceful, prosperous society that is brimming with LIBERTY!
much love to all! :)

This video shows the executive orders and laws enacted over the last 40 years that are setting us up for a police state.. just the facts.. not a conspiracy here. We need to elect people who care about our liberty and will repeal these orders and laws ASAP before someone as crazy or crazier than bush comes into office that will use them against us!

This was the best part of the republican debates.. McCain is so out of touch. I love the reaction on Ron Paul's face to the claim that he was an Isolationist and that type of foreign policy lead to Hitler's rise in power. Our sanctions on Germany after WW1 oppressed the German people and Hitler wanted revenge. McCain is a Interventionist bent on pre-emptively striking 3rd world countries that aren't even close to building a weapon to attack us. Furthermore, how can you blame countries like Iran and North Korea for trying to protect themselves against an oppressive American Empire? Also, if they can build the bomb they would get billions in aid, sounds like an incentive.
What we need is Peace, not fear.
Here's a great presentation by Naomi Wolf with the history of countries like Germany, Italy, Russia and China and how they were slowly converted from democracies to fascist states...
A good point she raises: name a country that setup secret prisons and tortured that didn't eventually turn into a fascist state? We must stand up peacefully and make history by reversing this transition!!!

The pieces of The Police State are almost put together, Here's the blueprint to Fascism in 10 easy steps:
From Hitler to Pinochet and beyond, history shows there are certain steps that any would-be dictator must take to destroy constitutional freedoms. And, argues Naomi Wolf, George Bush and his administration seem to be taking them all
Ms. Wolf also said we probably have less than year, and that Hillary 08 would likely lead to a surveillance society.
"The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands ... is the definition of tyranny," wrote James Madison. We still have the choice to stop going down this road; we can stand our ground and fight for our nation, and take up the banner the founders asked us to carry.
The ten steps:
1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy
2. Create a gulag
3. Develop a thug caste (Blackwater USA)
4. Set up an internal surveillance system
5. Harass citizens' groups
6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release
7. Target key individuals
8. Control the press
9. Dissent equals treason
10. Suspend the rule of lawread more in depth: http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,,2064157,00.html
quote from daily paul: "Is this the end of the American experiment? It seems to me as though the Ron Paul campaign represents a clear last chance to grab hold before we go off a cliff and freedom is no longer recoverable without a lot (!) of violence. I don't know if other societies on the verge of totalitarianism were given such a chance to open their eyes and sidestep the fates that they're laxness and ignorance have brought about, but this election will be a real test of the character of the American people.
In the recent past, elections have been contests between the lesser of two evils and the electorate responded with apathy. Now, when the stakes are highest, the American people have a choice: on one hand, our collective eyes open, we remember our traditions of personal responsibility and liberty, and we begin the long hard process of cutting away the rotten elements of our government. On the other hand, we continue chasing the prize dangled just out of reach, we allow ourselves to be made afraid of "terrorists" within and without, and we all get stampeded off the cliff.
Saying "I told you so" will not make me feel any better, not even a little."
There is a 40minute lecture that Naomi gave that really explains what is going on, worth checking out!
For a less serious video, check out Naomi Wolf on the Colbert Report:
Here's a great review of Naomi Wolf's book "The End of America" which I bought. In the review he reveals more of the bigger picture. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article18426.htm
THIS IS AN URGENT ACTION ALERT:
S 1959 "Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007" must be stopped at all costs.
Pick up your phone today and contact your US Senator's office to instruct them to vote "NO" on S.1959.
Click here for your Senators contact info:
Full PDF text if the bill:
If this bill is passed, and becomes law, your words and actions could be considered terrorism. S 1959 EVISCERATES FREE SPEECH, and empowers the govt. to declare ANYTHING they deem an "extremist belief system", instantly make you a terrorist, resulting in stripping of US citizenship, torture, and/or execution, with no habeas corpus rights, no ability to challenge even in the US Supreme Court.
Contact your Senator and let them know they will be looking for another job if they vote yes on this bill, which is now introduced into the Senate as S.1959 THIS BILL **MUST NOT** BECOME LAW, PERIOD.
If this becomes law, your words could be considered "promoting an extremist belief system", and all they have to say is that you are using PLANNED OR THREATENED *FORCE* (DOES NOT HAVE TO BE VIOLENCE) --FORCE by exposing CORRUPTION.
Please stop the powers at be from destroying our Constitution and our Freedom of Speech
Our foreign policy of controlling the middle east has caused the hatred for America. They don't hate us because we're free. We need to stop getting in other people's business.
November 30th is the next Ron Paul money drive which reminds Rudy that he should read the 9/11 commission Report, learn about Blowback (CIA term for what we cause)
Here's a 9minute lesson on Foreign Policy:
One of the biggest Taser representatives outside the US base has declared the company's intention to produce and sell internationally a small airborne drone version of the weapon that can administer electrical jolts of 50,000 volts. Antoine di Zazzo has told the AFP that his French company is "developing a mini-flying saucer like drone which could also fire Taser stun rounds on criminal suspects or rioting crowds. He expects it to be launched next year and to be sold internationally by Taser."
We must learn to protest peacefully and avoid unnecessary death due to Tasers - flying or not.

what will it take for people to wake up? I truly hope it will be peaceful, and not through martial law or ww3/nuclear war. How can we stand by as the constitution is ripped apart and lies and corruption run rampant throughout our great country.
I prayed today for peace and that more people will work as activists or in government to bring back the respect for the law and the constitution that gave us liberty.
Here's another, remember not to be shy.. ;)

A very good article on Ron Paul, the supporters behind him and the movement he is creating!! Last week I realized that I was a libertarian, fiscally conservative and socially liberal. In this article they talk about how an estimated 9% and growing feel the same way!! And people have lost faith in both parties and want change!! Enough is enough, we're not going to take this anymore! Let's vote out all the crooks and liars! Let's stop spending and save our country from bankruptcy!

I participated in the march in Las Vegas, luckily we weren't shot at.. quite scary! In the article is a video of the rally in Las Vegas and I'm about 2/3 of the way through!
Great interview that shows Ron Paul's message and he explains his stance on the issues facing America. I met Ron Paul and Tucker Carlson yesterday! Tucker knows that TV Is fake journalism, but he is still trying.. I told him he is in an important position to help people learn to think critically, his response was yes, but its hard with the 'day to day'... well I hope it sits in the back of his mind in the future!
Just received this from the campaign, looks like if everyone waits until December 16th, it could really hurt..
November 20, 2007
During the first few days of October, we announced our fundraising goal for the fourth quarter: $12 million raised by December 31.
But there's more: we need to have spent it by then, too.
If we were to raise the entire $12 million in the last week of December, we would meet our fundraising goal for the quarter. But Ron Paul would stand little chance of winning the Republican nomination, because that money would have come in too late.
Time is of the essence. You see, we need to raise money well before we plan to spend it. That's because most of the expenditures that we make need to be paid for weeks in advance. For example, we need to buy crucial airtime for the end of December right now.
The sooner we raise this money, the sooner that we can spread Dr. Paul's message - our message - in the early primary states. Time truly is money.
Fact is, we only have about two weeks to raise money for the early primaries.
If you wait a month from now to donate, your money will only be spent after Iowa caucus-goers and New Hampshire primary voters have made up their minds.
We are rapidly running out of time. The Iowa caucus is just 44 days away. New Hampshire is in 49 days. With so much ground to make up, we can't afford to waste a single day.
As a result, we are spending faster than the rate at which we are raising money. In October alone, we raised $2.8 million, but our campaign spent over $3.1 million.
We cannot afford to wait for bursts of press activity. What we need is sustained attention in the news. What better way to do this than by continuing to raise money at a rapid pace now? We need to keep our momentum going.
Help us win in New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina, and Nevada.
Make your most generous contribution as soon as you can: https://www.ronpaul2008.com

What a mess... looks like we've spent $100 million in secret and Pakistan isn't cooperating with us. Looks like another case of funding a dictator in the middle east and then them turning on US. Whats next after Iran, Pakistan? Negative press on Fox News, CNN to portrait Musharraf as evil?
Here's a quote to make you giggle (uncomfortably):
"The New York Times has known details of the secret program for more than three years, based on interviews with a range of American officials and nuclear experts, some of whom were concerned that Pakistan’s arsenal remained vulnerable. The newspaper agreed to delay publication of the article after considering a request from the Bush administration, which argued that premature disclosure could hurt the effort to secure the weapons."
and Pakistan doesn't want our safeguarding technology to protect the bombs from going off in the wrong hands - "the program has been hindered by a deep suspicion among Pakistan’s military that the secret goal of the United States was to gather intelligence about how to locate and, if necessary, disable Pakistan’s arsenal, which is the pride of the country."
"a legal analysis found that aiding Pakistan’s nuclear weapons program — even if it was just with protective gear — would violate both international and American law."
and more corruption on sharing nuclear information was in france: "The most famous case of nuclear idea sharing involves France. Starting in the early 1970s, the United States government began a series of highly secretive discussions with French scientists to help them improve the country’s warheads. A potential impediment to such sharing was the 1968 Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, which bars cooperation between nations on weapons technology. To get around such legal prohibitions, Washington came up with a system of “negative guidance,” sometimes called “20 questions,” as detailed in a 1989 article in Foreign Policy. The system let United States scientists listen to French descriptions of warhead approaches and give guidance about whether the French were on the right track."
I'm tired of the secret government actions, this government is supposed to be by and for the people!!! I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!!

What an inspirational video to capture the spirity and the momentum of this campaign and message of freedom, liberty and peace!! The original tea party sparked a revolution against the British, the Ron Paul movement is spreading a revolution to take back our country from the military-industrial-congressional complex and the ruling elite!
Here's an early video of Ron Paul's. He clearly understands the crisis we're in, we're bankrupt, a police state is setup in place and the American Empire will fall just like the empires before it unless we change back towards what our founding Fathers setup for us. Respect the constitution and liberty!!
Here's a bill he's proposed: http://www.ronpaulonline.com/component/option,com_docman/task,doc_details/gid,38/Itemid,203/
The American Freedom Agenda Act would bar the use of evidence obtained through torture; require that federal intelligence gathering is conducted in accordance with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA); create a mechanism for challenging presidential signing statements; repeal the Military Commissions Act, which, among other things, denies habeas corpus to certain detainees; prohibit kidnapping, detentions, and torture abroad; protect journalists who publish information received from the executive branch; and ensure that secret evidence is not used to designate individuals or organizations with a presence in the U.S. as foreign terrorists.

Nafta Superhighway - Currently there is a SuperCorridor being built by a Spanish company through Texas that is taking away private land for a toll road. This massive 10lane road is called the Trans-Texas corridor. This SuperCorridor is an "inland port" where foreign drivers can drive through the united states freely and will deliver their products at Customs in major ports such as the one designated for Kansas City. This port will not be part of America but rather part of the North American Union on our soil.
The North American Union will render the constitution useless. Furthermore, this road will only benefit the global corporate elite ready to exploit the poor Mexican sweatshop workers and deliver these products to the United States and Canada. Also this will allow the U.S. to exploit Mexico and Canada's oil reserves. Economically this road will also hurt one of America's biggest jobs - Trucking, and further throw our Trade Deficit farther away from center, our money will continue to pour out of this country because our jobs are going to other countries. This will be a major reason why we will have a recession and possibly another great depression.
Ron Paul on the NAU and Trans-Texas Corridor: http://www.ronpaulonline.com/content/view/226/214/
The Security and Prosperity Partnership will be making decisions affecting trade between the three countries and pressure will be put upon the countries to follow these rules and regulations. The SPP interests will be put ahead of United States interests. The permanent un-elected panel that decides for the SPP will be permanent and we as American citizens have no control over this. This will eventually lead to a European-Union like structure, the North American Union, and the abolishment of the U.S. Constitution with a new form of money tentatively called the "Amero".
Here's the Council on Foreign Relations' article on creating a North American Union, the intro by Richard M. Haas describes the 2005 Texas meeting that happened between the three leaders of North America and their agreement for the SPP. About the CFR: basically all the presidential candidates from both sides except Ron Paul are members of the CFR! Also the CFR openly advocates a New World Order aka One World Government.
The beginning of this One World Government is the North American Union. And before a North American Union, there is the SPP, which is being developed in private. Our president with help from the CFR have decided for us. Please read for yourself, I have. It sounds like a good idea, we need access to resources, security, etc.. but can't we do this without the SPP? Why can't we work out trade like we always have? There isn't a reason given.. I've read into it and it's obvious to me, it's largely for control and resources, including Oil. This partnership will allow U.S. Countries to invest and pressure the Mexicans to allow us to drill their Oil. The Mexicans have resisted drilling their reserves because they want to save it for themselves. Without Oil, our economy as we know it will cease to exist. Our economy is unsustainable, why keep abusing the constitution for more Oil? When will we decide that we must change our habits instead? How much more damage will we do to our environment? How many more people must we kill and controlling? How many more countries must we invade? More and more, actions by our Government will be for control Oil and resources, and moving towards One World Government. Please think critically and stop trusting the Media and Government Officials!
This also explains why Bush and Co want amnesty for the illegals and no enforcement of our borders.. because the borders won't matter in the future!! why invest in them!!! The SPP plan is also justified by the war on terror!! How much will this war on terror cause? Will it end with a Police State under Martial Law like what was played out in the movie V for Vendetta or talked about in Alex Jones's new movie End Game?
There is a march against the SPP and the NAU this weekend in 9 cities which I will be taking part in! We must respect our constitution and our sovereignty!! We have done fine for hundreds of years, don't allow these people to take away our country and our rights!!
next up, NAU (north american union)... and when asked about NAFTA, she laughed and said she couldn't remember that back when her husband was president. FYI the person who drafted NAFTA is the CEO of Citigroup..

just discovered this from ron paul's house.gov website. 'texas straight talk' !
here's the latest on Entangling Alliances. So refreshing to hear this from a politician running for president..
Where'd they go? The emails are from March 2003 to October 2005 -- a crucial period that includes the Iraq invasion, a presidential election and Hurricane Katrina. How convenient for them to disappear...
He was forced to split the at&t data stream into a secret room that only people with NSA clearance could enter. All trafic, foreign and domestic was copied. This included phone calls and all internet traffic! Where is the respect for our privacy and the constitution? Bush and Co. say its only for foreign communications but how do we know they are ignoring the rest? I'm sure they are intercepting this as I type and trying to keep a lid on their evil doings.

Here's the next money bomb!! I'm signed up!
On December 16th, 1773, American colonists dumped tea into the Boston Harbor to protest an oppressive tax. This December 16th, American citizens will dump millions of dollars into the Ron Paul presidential campaign to protest the oppressive and unconstitutional inflation tax (which is tied to the war, our costly foreign policy and harms our liberties here at home). Please join us this December 16th 2007 for the largest one-day political donation event in history. Our goal is to bring together 100,000 people to donate $100 each, creating a one day donation total of $10,000,000.

A National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) on Iran has been held up for more than a year in an effort to force the intelligence community to remove dissenting judgments on the Iranian nuclear programme, and thus make the document more supportive of U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney's militarily aggressive policy toward Iran, according to accounts of the process provided by participants to two former Central Intelligence Agency officers.

Found these to be excellent and entertaining interviews with the great Ron Paul, he sure put up a great fight against the evil Bill O'Reilly! The history lesson issue was the best.. Bill is so ignorant. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7JPvbVsDdY
And my favorite comedian, stephen colbert takes a go as well, http://www.jwharrison.com/blog/2007/06/14/stephen-colbert-interviews-ron-paul/
"Ray-Gun" 21st Century tear-gas
A new invention, a "Ray-Gun" to inflict pain. 21st century tear gas. -
Very scary, it stimulates nerve endings to feel pain through the air. Even the most hardened marine can only sustain a few seconds. I fear this will be used for torture and to quell domestic dissent at the government who is destroying our country. Next version goes through the skin and can cause death!
Rumsfeld, Bush and Cheney are the real terrorists!!! Here's proof!!

Memos Prove Rumsfeld Directed Psychological Terror Campaign
Hyping climate of fear, threat of violence to achieve political objectives is the very definition of terrorism
Paul Joseph Watson
Friday, November 2, 2007
New Pentagon memos released by the Washington Post prove that ex-U.S. defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld directed a psychological campaign of terror in order to achieve political objectives, making Rumsfeld himself a terrorist according to the very definition of the term.
"Donald Rumsfeld, the former United States defence secretary, tried to maintain an atmosphere of fear in America as part of the Iraq war propaganda campaign, a series of leaked memos has shown," reports the London Telegraph.
In an April 2006 memo, Rumsfeld encouraged Pentagon officials to "Keep elevating the threat" and "Talk about Somalia, the Philippines etc. Make the American people realise they are surrounded in the world by violent extremists".
Rumsfeld also urged his staff to concoct "bumper sticker statements" (mindless clichés) in an attempt to garner continued support for the occupation of Iraq.
In the most telling e mail, the former defense secretary ordered the Pentagon to "link Iraq to Iran," heralding the birth of the now saturated propaganda talking point that Iran is fueling the violence in Iraq and helping to kill U.S. troops, despite the fact that British officials patrolling the Iran-Iraq border admit that there is "No concrete proof that Iran is supplying Iraq."
Rumsfeld's obsession with micro-managing every aspect of the propaganda offensive upon the American people led to him disseminating anything up to 60 "snowflakes" or memos every single day, much to the chagrin of Pentagon employees.
His insistence that an artificial climate of fear be maintained in America about the threat of new terror attacks in order to sell the unpopular war in Iraq are the smoking gun for criminal charges to be initiated.
By several of the very definitions of terrorism, Rumsfeld has provably engaged in terrorism, by hyping the threat of terror to achieve a political objective.
- A psychological strategy of war for gaining political ends by deliberately creating a well-founded climate of fear among the civilian population.
- The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence against people or property to coerce or intimidate governments or societies.
- The systematic use of terror, the deliberate creation and exploitation of fear for bringing about political change.
- The use of - or threatened use of - criminal violence against civilians or civilian infrastructure to achieve political ends through fear and intimidation, rather than direct confrontation.
- The calculated use of violence (or threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear.
Under any of the definitions of terrorism listed above, Rumsfeld has demonstrably engaged in terror by artificially hyping the fear of new attacks as part of a strategy to achieve a political objective.
she should be in jail over this, and the savings and loan scandal!
she lied about over a million dollars donated from a hollywood fundraiser in 2000 by peter paul and stan lee.. doh!

Here's a few sites with information on the growing income inequality that has been taking place over the past few decades. Its only going to get worse unless we stand up and stop supporting the corporations and politicians who are taking advantage of us! The most shocking things i've learned is that the average income hasn't changed since 1970 (adjusted for inflation!) and the minimum wage was frozen during reagan/bush years, effectively giving the poor an average 2% pay cut per year due to inflation.
For Richer -
great in depth (but long) article on income inequality from 2002 that show's we're entering another Gilded Age and how the middle class of today is very different compared to 1950/60s. Here's some quotes:
Most of the gains in the share of the top 10 percent of taxpayers over the past 30 years were actually gains to the top 1 percent, rather than the next 9 percent. In 1998 the top 1 percent started at $230,000. In turn, 60 percent of the gains of that top 1 percent went to the top 0.1 percent, those with incomes of more than $790,000. And almost half of those gains went to a mere 13,000 taxpayers, the top 0.01 percent, who had an income of at least $3.6 million and an average income of $17 million
Globalization can explain part of the relative decline in blue-collar wages, but it can't explain the 2,500 percent rise in C.E.O. incomes. Technology may explain why the salary premium associated with a college education has risen, but it's hard to match up with the huge increase in inequality among the college-educated, with little progress for many but gigantic gains at the top.
Adjusting for inflation, average family income -- total income divided by the number of families -- grew 28 percent from 1979 to 1997. But median family income -- the income of a family in the middle of the distribution, a better indicator of how typical American families are doing -- grew only 10 percent. And the incomes of the bottom fifth of families actually fell slightly.
Income and Wealth Inequality -
relatively short page with lots of good data, that shows the average income hasn't changed since the 70s, while the top 20% has seen an increase, and the top 1% the most. According to the Federal Reserve, in 1990 the richest 1 percent of America owned 40 percent of its wealth -- the greatest level of inequality among all rich nations, and the worst in U.S. history since the Roaring Twenties. Furthermore, the richest 20 percent owned 80 percent of America -- meaning, of course, that the bottom four-fifths of all Americans owned only one fifth of its wealth. Talks about regan and bush freezing minimum wage during their terms, so they effectively had a wage cut as inflation increased.
Class, Society and Meritocracy -
very good one page explanation of history and how the rich stay rich and how they justify it.
Median household and individual incomes have gone down every year since 2000 except for 2005: http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/income/histinc/h06ar.html
The prices of healthcare, higher education, fuel, etc. are rising faster than the broader rate of inflation, so the lack of income growth is hurting the middle and lower classes with respect to these critical items. This will eventually lead to reduced consumer spending, especially as credit dries up, resulting in lower growth. The rich can only spend so much on goods, and their capital investments require that there is a broad base of active consumers to generate corporate profits.
Here is a great counter-argument to Global Warming. It raises serious questions on the science of global warming and climate change and pokes some holes into the doomsday theories. This films thesis is what "causes" global warming. The producers of this film believe it is the sun. I also believe the sun plays a big impact but also realize that we CO2 and other elements such as water vapor are greenhouse gases that can "amplify" the effect of the warming.
In Al Gore's movie "An Inconvenient Truth", he shows the ice core samples and a ramp up of CO2. He shows CO2 causing the warming and then concludes that the earth will warm catastrophically. It's truly unfortunate that the graph showing temperature and CO2 levels going back through the ages was not shown in greater detail. According to this film "The Great Global Warming Swindle", The CO2 link is the other way around. The CO2 level changes followed exactly AFTER the temperature, not before. wow. this could be the 'oops of the century' .... The earth IS warming, this is true, but humans did not start the warming, but we are amplifying it. I think this is why the debate has changed to "Climate Change".
Many critics of this film cite outdated information that doesn't include todays numbers, but the point is that history shows us that temperature rises before the co2, not the other way around. So, maybe the "alarmist" theories of Climate Change aren't true?
Another point is that regardless of Climate Change being real or not, Peak Oil is. We only have so much oil and we are using it at a rapid pace. We need to stop relying on oil, reduce our consumption, recycle and reuse everything possible and move to a more sustainable future.
For the last 100 years or so, We have been raping our resources, sending species into extinction, polluting our water systems and food sources, destroying our topsoil and killing millions of people. When will we change? Will we wake up in time or will we be forced to change?
The video is about an hour long, the first 30minutes is really all you need to see.
I found these very insightful, we must move towards a more sustainable lifestyle!
Quotes From: http://www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/Archives2007/HeinbergFiftyMillion.html
There was a time not so long ago when famine was an expected, if not accepted, part of life. Until the 19th century — whether in China, France, India or Britain — food came almost entirely from local sources and harvests were variable. In good years, there was plenty—enough for seasonal feasts and for storage in anticipation of winter and hard times to come; in bad years, starvation cut down the poorest and the weakest—the very young, the old, and the sickly. Sometimes bad years followed one upon another, reducing the size of the population by several percent. This was the normal condition of life in pre-industrial societies, and it persisted for thousands of years.
Today, in America, such a state of affairs is hard to imagine. Food is so cheap and plentiful that obesity is a far more widespread concern than hunger. The average mega-supermarket stocks an impressive array of exotic foods from across the globe, and even staples are typically trucked from hundreds of miles away. Many people in America did go hungry during the Great Depression, but those were times that only the elderly can recall. In the current regime, the desperately poor may experience chronic malnutrition and may miss meals, but for most the dilemma is finding time in the day’s hectic schedule to go to the grocery store or to cook. As a result, fast-food restaurants proliferate: the fare may not be particularly nutritious, but even an hour’s earnings at minimum wage will buy a meal or two. The average American family spent 20 percent of its income on food in 1950; today the figure is 10 percent.
This is an extraordinary situation; but because it is the only one that most Americans alive today have ever experienced, we tend to assume that it will continue indefinitely. However there are reasons to think that our current anomalous abundance of inexpensive food may be only temporary; if so, present and future generations may become acquainted with that old, formerly familiar but unwelcome houseguest—famine.
The third worrisome trend is an increasing scarcity of fresh water. Sixty percent of water used nationally goes toward agriculture. California’s Central Valley, which produces the substantial bulk of the nation’s fruits, nuts, and vegetables, receives virtually no rainfall during summer months and relies overwhelmingly on irrigation. But the snowpack on the Sierras, which provides much of that irrigation water, is declining, and the aquifer that supplies much of the rest is being drawn down at many times its recharge rate. If these trends continue, the Central Valley may be incapable of producing food in any substantial quantities within two or three decades. Other parts of the country are similarly overspending their water budgets, and very little is being done to deal with this looming catastrophe.
We have been trained to admire the benefits of intensification and industrialization. But, as I’ve already indicated, we have paid an enormous price for these benefits—a price that includes alienation from nature, loss of community and tradition, and the acceptance of the anonymity and loss of autonomy implied by mass society. In essence, this tradeoff has its origins in the beginnings of urbanization and agriculture.
Could we actually regain much of what we have lost? Yes, perhaps by going back, at least in large part, to horticulture. Recall that the shift from horticulture to agriculture was, as best we can tell, a fateful turning point in cultural history. It represented the beginning of full-time division of labor, hierarchy, and patriarchy.
Biointensive farming and Permaculture are primarily horticultural rather than agricultural systems. These new, intelligent forms of horticulture could, then, offer an alternative to a new feudalism with a new peasantry. In addition, they emphasize biodiversity, averting many of the environmental impacts of field cropping. They use various strategies to make hand labor as efficient as possible, minimizing toil and drudgery. And they typically slash water requirements for crops grown in arid regions.
We have gotten used to a situation where most farmers rely on non-farm income. As of 2002 only a bit less than 60 percent of farm operators reported that their primary work is on the farm. Only 9 percent of primary operators on farms with one operator, and 10 percent on farms with multiple operators, report all of their income as coming from the farm.
The bad side of this is that it means it’s hard to make a living farming these days. The good side is that we don’t have to think of farming as an exclusive occupation. As people return to small communities and to farming, they could bring with them other interests. Rather than a new peasantry that spends all of its time in drudgery, we could look forward to a new population of producers who maintain interests in the arts and sciences, in history, philosophy, spirituality, and psychology—in short, the whole range of pursuits that make modern urban life interesting and worthwhile.
Moreover, the re-ruralization program I am describing could be a springboard for the rebirth of democracy in this nation. I do not have to tell this audience how, over the past few years, democracy in America has become little more than a slogan. In fact this erosion of our democratic traditions has been going on for some time. As Kirkpatrick Sale showed in his wonderful book Human Scale, as communities grow in size, individuals’ ability to influence public affairs tends to shrink. Sociological research now shows that people who have the ability to influence policy in their communities show a much higher sense of satisfaction with life in general. In short, the re-ruralization of America could represent the fulfillment of Thomas Jefferson’s vision of an agrarian democracy—but without the slaves.
If we do this well, it could mean the revitalization not only of democracy, but of the family and of authentic, place-based culture. It could also serve as the basis for a new, genuine conservatism to replace the ersatz conservatism of the current ruling political elites.
What I am proposing is nothing less than a new alliance among environmental organizations, farmers, gardeners, organizations promoting economic justice, the anti-globalization movement, universities and colleges, local businesses, churches, and other social organizations. Moreover, the efforts of this alliance would have to be coordinated at the national, state, and local level. This is clearly a tall order. However, we are not talking about merely a good idea. This is a survival strategy.
It may seem that I am describing and advocating a reversion to the world of 1800, or even that of 8,000 BC. This is not really the case. We will of course need to relearn much of what our ancestors knew. But we have discovered a great deal about biology, geology, hydrology, and other relevant subjects in recent decades, and we should be applying that knowledge—as Holmgren, Mollison, Jeavons, and others have done—to the project of producing food for ourselves.
Cultural anthropology teaches us that the way people get their food is the most reliable determinant of virtually all other social characteristics. Thus, as we build a different food system we will inevitably be building a new kind of culture, certainly very different from industrial urbanism but probably also from what preceded it. As always before in human history, we will make it up as we go along, in response to necessity and opportunity.
Perhaps these great changes won’t take place until the need is obvious and irresistibly pressing. Maybe gasoline needs to get to $10 a gallon. Perhaps unemployment will have to rise to ten or twenty or forty percent, with families begging for food in the streets, before embattled policy makers begin to reconsider their commitment to industrial agriculture.
But even in that case, as in Cuba, all may depend upon having another option already articulated. Without that, we will be left to the worst possible outcome.
Rather than consigning ourselves to that fate, let us accept the current challenge—the next great energy transition—as an opportunity not to vainly try to preserve business as usual, the American Way of Life that, we are told, is not up for negotiation, but rather to re-imagine human culture from the ground up.
The Expansion Period (1600 to 1920): Increases in food production during these three centuries came simply from putting more land into production; technological change played only a minor role.
The Mechanization Period (1920 to 1970): In this half-century, technological advances issuing from cheap, abundant fossil-fuel energy resulted in a dramatic increase in productivity (output per worker hour). Meanwhile, farm machinery, pesticides, herbicides, irrigation, new hybrid crops, and synthetic fertilizers allowed for the doubling and tripling of crop production. Also during this time, U.S. Department of Agriculture policy began favoring larger farms (the average U.S. farm size grew from 100 acres in 1930 to almost 500 acres by 1990), and production for export.
The Saturation Period (1970-present): In recent decades, the application of still greater amounts of energy have produced smaller relative increases in crop yields; meanwhile an ever-growing amount of energy is being expended to maintain the functioning of the overall system. For example, about ten percent of the energy in agriculture is used just to offset the negative effects of soil erosion, while increasing amounts of pesticides must be sprayed each year as pests develop resistances. In short, strategies that had recently produced dramatic increases in productivity became subject to the law of diminishing returns.
While we were achieving miracles of productivity, agriculture’s impact on the natural world was also growing; indeed it is now the single greatest source of human damage to the global environment. That damage takes a number of forms: erosion and salinization of soils; deforestation (a strategy for bringing more land into cultivation); fertilizer runoff (which ultimately creates enormous “dead zones” around the mouths of many rivers); loss of biodiversity; fresh water scarcity; and agrochemical pollution of water and soil.
In short, we created unprecedented abundance while ignoring the long-term consequences of our actions. This is more than a little reminiscent of how some previous agricultural societies—the Greeks, Babylonians, and Romans—destroyed soil and habitat in their mania to feed growing urban populations, and collapsed as a result.
Fortunately, during the past century or two we have also developed the disciplines of archaeology and ecology, which teach us how and why those ancient societies failed, and how the diversity of the web of life sustains us. Thus, in principle, if we avail ourselves of this knowledge, we need not mindlessly repeat

Have you seen this Keith Olbermann talk on bush and water boarding? its great, very passionate! We need more heroes like Keith. Before watching this, I didn't know much about Daniel Levin! He actually went and tried out the 'interrogation techniques' to find out if it is actually water boarding or not. Even though he knew the people would stop it if he was about to be hurt or if they wanted him to stop, he couldn't shake the reality that he was drowning. He decided that it was in fact torture and was fired for deciding that by Bush. He was assistant to the attorney general 3 years ago.

Ron Paul: A True Patriot. Defender of the Constitution.
I've spent the last week reading, watching and discussing Ron Paul and his issues. The more I look into his concepts, the more they make sense. I understand where he's coming from. It's pretty simple: complex issues are best decided at the local level and the Federal Government doesn't have the authority to regulate our rights. The States and The People should have control over their own affairs.
Our national debt is out of control (Currently 9trillion), the dollar is at historic lows and falling, oil is at record highs. We should stop the spending, then reduce our taxes so our economy can thrive and survive! Our monetary system should be backed by a physical asset, like Gold to limit spending. Currently the Federal Reserve (A private bank) can create money anytime they want, devaluing the dollar, and we pay them interest on the money they print us. Or they can restrict the amount of money in circulation, causing recessions and depressions (like in the 1930s).
For all the talk of National Health Care, we can't even think of paying for it when we have record debt. The current administration has increased the debt limit numerous of times. When George W. Bush took office, our national debt was at 2.1trillion. As of writing we have over 9trillion in debt and growing at 1.44 billion a day since September 2006.
Right now we spend about $1 trillion a year on our Military. We could have hundreds of billions of dollars in savings by shrinking our Military and getting them out of nation building and policing around the world (We have 750 bases in 130 countries). This type of spending is unsustainable, we're borrowing more and more money from China and Japan. China has threatened to call in their debts which would put us into bankruptcy. They have us by the balls.
Regarding National Security, being over in Iraq and other countries is only making them hate us more. Pre-Emptive strikes breeds violence and fear. Think about it this way, if China had pre-emptively struck us or our neighbors, don't you think we'd be afraid and fight back? How can we have this double standard. Our founding fathers wanted us to stay out of other nations affairs and worry about our own.
As we transition back to what our founding fathers wanted, some services will remain to those dependent on them. But most of the fat will be trimmed. The CIA will be removed (The CIA got us into Vietnam, countless other 'wars' and has helped overthrow many governments around the world including Iran in the 1950s). Homeland Security is unnecessary (the fbi was doing fine pre-9/11, but the people in power weren't listening). The IRS enforces an illegal federal income tax, The Federal Reserve is a private organization that controls our money, The Department of Energy promotes the use of oil and isn't doing enough for Alternative Energies, The War On Drugs should be a health issue, not a police issue! All of these federal organizations are setup with good intentions, but we have learned the hard way that they simply aren't serving our interests and they take away our liberty, power and control over our own lives.
But people may object to cutting these services because this means you don't care about the people. Not at all, look at it this way, for example in eliminating The Department of Education. This doesn't mean that we don't care about our kids or education, it's the simple fact that the government is doing a poor job. How can the Federal Government and the politicians in washington understand the varied needs from state to state. "No Child Left Behind" is a good example of why The Department of Education is doing more harm than good and is a waste of money. Just ask any teachers or parents about it!. Let the local administrations handle requirements based on the needs of the community.
The Federal Government has no Constitutional authority to regulate our freedoms and liberties. The role of Government should be to protect liberty. This is the very fundamental concept that Ron Paul is running on: Get the Government off our backs! Restore Freedom and Liberty! Let the free market, communities and individuals take care of themselves!
For those who haven't seen this quick 1minute youtube video, it's the clip that brought me to tears and temporarily cured my apathy! Ron should be using this for his TV & Internet campaigns.
For more detailed information about Ron Paul you can check a variety of sources, I'll list the 3 best that I know of:
1 Hour Google Interview + Q&A - the longest and most detailed interview on Ron Paul that answered a few of my lingering questions and worries.
Ron Paul Intro - A good starting point. The site is designed like a slide show with links to videos of clips of speeches / interviews / reviews.
Ron Paul Official Page - I feel his stance on roe vs wade and the environment aren't fully explained here and it initially held me back from being passionate. But once you understand the fundamental change that must be taken, it all makes sense. Get the federal government out of it and let the states decide controversial issues that are best handled locally. To protect the environment, we should extend property rights of individuals to include water, air and land. Then, and only then would the government would have the right to get involved.
